Country House Tourism Project
This project is located in Carvoeiro, in the heart of the Algarve – a region with a strong vernacular architectural identity and growing demand for nature and wellness tourism. The proposal consists of creating a 250 m² country house that combines local identity with a quality contemporary program.
Architectural concept. The proposal is based on respect for traditional Algarve architecture: whitewashed volumes, terraced roofs, arcades and interior patios. These elements are reinterpreted in a contemporary language that maintains the essence of regional identity without resorting to historicist pastiche.
Program. The project is developed in two complementary volumes: the main building with a living room, kitchen and four guest bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms; and a secondary volume intended for a wellness area with an outdoor swimming pool and meditation area.
Investment and profitability. The project was developed with an integrated economic feasibility analysis. The tourist program falls into the category of residential tourism (Decree-Law 128/2014), with tax advantages associated with local accommodation.
BIM methodology. The development in BIM made it possible to validate compliance with Lagoa’s PDM and optimize the layout to maximize the views and privacy of each unit, before any cost was incurred on site.
The project is currently being licensed by the Lagoa City Council.
